Todd J. Russo headshot

Todd J. Russo

Chief Executive Officer

Todd Russo is the Chief Executive Officer of Buckeye. Todd joined Buckeye in 2008 and has held numerous key leadership roles in the organization, most recently as Executive Vice President, Alternative Energy & Strategy from 2021 to 2022, where he was responsible for defining and advancing Buckeye’s strategy relating to alternative energy. He previously served as General Counsel from 2013-2021.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Todd was an attorney at Ballard Spahr, where he focused his practice on securities and corporate governance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Todd also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Energy Infrastructure Council and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, and he is a member of the National Petroleum Council.

Tessa Fitzpatrick

Tessa Fitzpatrick

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Tessa Fitzpatrick is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Buckeye. Tessa joined Buckeye in 2021 and is focused on the development of the organization’s strategic initiatives, both with respect to the core petroleum products business and the alternative energy strategy. She oversees Buckeye’s Strategy & Investments which holds Buckeye’s portfolio investments in BAES Infrastructure and Freeport LNG Train 2, as well as Buckeye’s Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Sustainability functions.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Tessa was an investment professional with global institutional fund manager IFM Investors, where she played an integral role in transaction execution, transformational strategy, and asset management across a range of midstream and renewable energy investments. Tessa holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance and Business Law from the University of Melbourne.

Joseph M. Sauger

Executive Vice President and President, Pipelines & Terminals

Joseph (“Joe”) Sauger is the Executive Vice President and President, Pipelines & Terminals at Buckeye. He is responsible for leading and overseeing the Pipelines & Terminals business segment, including all financial, commercial, engineering, and operational aspects. Joe has held various executive positions in the Buckeye organization over the past 17 years, with notable leadership positions in Engineering & Construction as well as Global Operations. 

Prior to joining Buckeye, Joe developed a wide array of experience and skills across various sectors, including commercial nuclear reactor operations, petroleum terminal design and construction, refinery construction and operations, and general business management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and has acquired various licenses and certifications in the nuclear, petrochemical, and construction industries.

Gary L. Bohnsack, Jr.

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Gary Bohnsack is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Buckeye. Gary joined Buckeye in 2017 as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. He then served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer from April 2021 until January 2022 before assuming his current role.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Gary served as Vice President and Controller of Kinder Morgan, Inc. and as an audit partner at KPMG LLP. He holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and accounting from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Columbia University. Gary is a Certified Public Accountant.

Robert T. Ingalls

Senior Vice President, Commercial Development

Robert (“Bob”) Ingalls is the Senior Vice President, Commercial Development for Buckeye, overseeing commercial and customer service activities across the company’s portfolio of pipeline and terminal assets. He has worked at Buckeye for the past 17 years, playing a critical leadership role in the significant growth of the company’s terminal business over that span.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Bob held a variety of operational and commercial roles at the Coastal Corporation, El Paso Corporation and the Premcor Refining Group. Before beginning his 27-year career in the petroleum logistics industry, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard in a variety of positions after earning his commission and Civil Engineering degree at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Sudhakar P. Virupakshi

Sudhakar P. Virupakshi

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Sudhakar Virupakshi (“SV”) is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Buckeye. SV joined Buckeye in 2021 and brings over 20 years of comprehensive technology and business knowledge from multiple industries, domains, and continents.

Prior to joining Buckeye, SV served as ELT & CIO at Par Pacific Holdings and held various leadership roles at HollyFrontier Sinclair Corp and Tesoro/Marathon Petroleum. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Bangalore University and an executive education from Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

SV also currently serves as an advisory board member to multiple organizations and as co-chair for the Houston Chief Information Officer community.

Evan B. Hoffman headshot

Evan B. Hofmann

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Evan Hofmann is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Buckeye and is responsible for overseeing the Legal, Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, and Regulatory Compliance functions. He has been with the company since 2013 and previously held the role of Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Evan was an attorney at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, Texas and Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, Illinois, after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center and the University of Texas at Austin.

Evan also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Houston Wilderness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving, and promoting the ten ecoregions in the Greater Houston Area through facilitation of large-scale environmental policy initiatives.

Adam W. Rubin

Vice President, Safety

Adam Rubin is the Vice President, Safety at Buckeye and is responsible for leading the Occupational Health and Safety team. Adam plays a key role in the strategic development and implementation of Health and Safety across the enterprise. He joined Buckeye in 2021, after spending 14 years working for a large EPC organization.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Adam held various roles focused in large construction, engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and specialty fabrication. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State and a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University. Adam is also Certified Safety Professional.

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Charlene Tennison is the Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Buckeye. Charlene oversees the Human Resources function, including talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design, compensation and benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion, and employee relations. She is responsible for cultivating Buckeye’s human resources strategy to deliver on the company’s key business initiatives. Charlene joined Buckeye in 2011 and has held a variety of HR leadership roles during her tenure.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Charlene held various Benefits and Compensation roles at healthcare, chemical, and energy companies in Houston. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Management from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

Patrick Ryan

Vice President, Strategy & Investments

Patrick Ryan is the Vice President, Strategy & Investments at Buckeye. Patrick joined Buckeye in 2022 and is responsible for the development, management, and execution of strategic initiatives, including the development of capabilities and resources needed to achieve Buckeye’s long-term strategies. His responsibilities also include the asset management of various investment interests, including certain alternative energy investments.

Prior to joining Buckeye, Patrick had a career as a senior executive in banking and finance across a variety of roles and disciplines, including corporate finance, strategy, risk, structured finance, and restructurings. He most recently held the role of General Manager and Global Head of Financial Institutions for National Australia Bank Limited, which included leadership of their infrastructure and energy financial/strategic investor sector. Patrick has a Bachelor of Applied Economics from Massey University (New Zealand) and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
