In the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona in September 2022, Puerto Rico’s south and central mountain regions were devastated by disastrous flooding and landslides, leaving the island without power. Just days after, Hurricane Ian hit southwest Florida as a Category 4 storm with hazardous conditions, including catastrophic storm surge and maximum sustained winds of 150 miles per hour, knocking out power for millions of people. As an integral part of these communities, we contributed $20,000 to the American Red Cross to assist with their relief efforts. We focused our internal resources on ensuring the integrity and continuity of the fuel infrastructure and supply needed to aid in rescue and recovery efforts.
Over the past ten years, Buckeye has partnered with the American Red Cross to impact relief efforts directly and meaningfully in and around the communities we work and live. During this time, we have contributed approximately $85,000 to assist communities suffering from hurricanes, flooding, tornados, and other devastating disasters.
